Black Lesbian and Gay Testimonies and Materials in Netherlands We live Here! is a unique exhibition, which includes stories and artefacts from artists, activists and club promoters, living within the Netherlands.
The display will include, books, photographs, newsletters, publications and flyers.
This exhibition highlights what it means to be both black and gay and some of the issues, challenges, and thoughts of this often-invisible community within Dutch society.
Marlon Reina adviser to the exhibition says 'It is about time to put the Black people that helped form the Dutch gay scene in the picture.'
We Live Here! is curated by Ajamu X, a London based internationally acclaimed photographer and community archivist specialising in Black Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender history, heritage and lived experiences.

3 october. Kana ku libertat



Kana ku libertat
17 ougùstùs 1795 Tula, Karpata, Sablika i otronan a marcha.
Nan marcha di lucha pa libertat.
Un marcha ku no a kaba ahinda, te awe nos ta sigui pone paso.

Pero paso den ki rumbo? Paso pa kibra kadena?
Kadena di bèrguensa o kompleho?

Awe 3 di òktober, e dia ku Tula su pianan a wòrdu kitá,
Mi ke para ketu i pensa.
Posombra danki na Tula mi libertat ta mi responsabilidat.
Awe mi tin ku sinta un ratu anto pensa kon mi ta sigui kana ku libertat.

Stappen in vrijheid
Op 17 augustus 1795 zetten Tula, Karpata en Sablika de eerste stappen.
De eerste stappen in hun mars naar vrijheid.
De mars is niet afgelopen, tot de dag van vandaag zetten we stappen.

Maar stappen in welke richting? Stappen om de kettingen te breken?
Kettingen van schaamte? Kettingen van negatieve denkbeelden?

Vandaag is het 3 oktober de dag waarop Tula’s voeten zijn afgekapt.
Vandaag is mijn dag om stil te staan.
Want dankzij Tula’s strijd is mijn vrijheid mijn eigen verantwoordelijkheid.
Vandaag neem ik de pas op de plaats om te denken over mijn volgende stappen in vrijheid.
